John Nicolson 19th May 2009

It was Monday evening, 28th January 2008. Keef Jackman who hosts The Acoustic Club had just replaced Wailing Mike Forbes in our project 'Apache John' (the band). I'd already mentioned to Mick (whom I'd only recently met - and also furthermore unbeknown to me; a 'distant' work colleague) that we were playing at The Cross Kings at King's Cross, London, on that particular evening. Shortly after our performance there, two men approached me and told me they were 'Rabbits'! I wasn't too surprised for I justified and reasoned that The Cross Kings did have a bohemian ambience and that I was probably being accosted (in a friendly way) by a couple of 'Mushroom Heads'. All became clear in a short while. I was very 'humbled' to meet, for the first time, both Lorcan and Roger. I can only guess Mick had alerted Lorcan earlier - and Lorcan decided to make the effort to come along and see us. I find this incident quite 'touching' insomuch as it demonstrates a 'love' ( which I believe to be an action word ) between brothers who communicated so closely with one another. I know Lorcan shall be sorely missed by those who knew him; but especially so by a family so close to each other as the Devine family. John Nicolson (Apache John)
